"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation. Christ was not merely the supreme individualist, but he was the first individualist in history."
— Oscar Wilde, “De Profundis” (letter to Lord Alfred Douglas, written from Reading Gaol, written Jan. through March 1897, available online at http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/921)
